Philippians 4:8 And
now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on
what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and
admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.NLT
When Paul wrote this he knew that the mind is very powerful. He knew that the battle begins in the mind. Most of the time my actions come from my thoughts. My sinful desires comes from my thoughts.
I need to learn how to think only on all these things, I know it will help with temptation. If I have a tempting thought, I just need to ask myself "How is this thought honorable, right, pure, lovely, and admirable?" If I can't answer that question, I need to just focus on better thoughts that I know are those things. I need to start only focusing on thoughts that will bring me closer to God, not farther.
I know thoughts can be hard to control sometimes, but what I have learned to do is just ask God to help get rid of whatever bad thoughts I am having. He gets rid of them, and replaces those thoughts with good thoughts. This battle will be way easier if my mind is pure. Day Eleven Completed!
108 Days Left!
